B”H
Dear Parents,
Kindergarten is so excited for the upcoming Jewish holiday of Pesach. They have begun creating their Haggada and are practicing singing Mah Nishtana so they are prepared for the Seder night. Each of the Four Questions reminds them of something that happened to the Jewish People in Mitzrayim and they know what each one is.
The Yellow Room Workers made a (pretend) Matza oven this week so they could bake (pretend) Matzos. There was a discussion as to where to put the Matza oven in the Home Corner once it was finished. They know that the process of baking Matza has to be done very quickly so that it doesn’t have a chance to become chometz (leavened bread).
My favorite part of Pesach is:
Mae: …finding the afikomen matza
Shyli: …drinking the four cups of wine and eating matza and my super favorite part is saying the Mah Nishtana.
Leah: …eating matzah and drinking wine. Also you dress in a dress.
Naveed: ....find the afikomen and you get a prize if you find it. I love new toys. I just play with them for five minutes and then they’re my old toys and I don’t play with them. And then I ask for more new toys.
Ronan: …where we find the afikomen and we get a prize and drinking wine.
Leanna: ...drinking grape juice and eating matzah and stuff and doing the fun stuff you get to do and find the afikomen and reading the Mah Nishtana.
Jacob: …drinking four cups of grape juice.
Social Emotional Development
This week’s parsha of Tazria discusses the mitzvah of being careful how we speak, specifically not talking Lashon Hora, speaking badly about others. The Kindergarten children try to work things out between each other instead of tattling. They know that if something is not safe or dangerous they must tell their Morah or parent right away. This lead to a discussion about how to play with friends, how to be mindful to include others and how lonely a person could feel if they are excluded.
What is something you could do to show caring and inclusion of others?
Leanna: By inviting them to play with me.
Jacob: Giving them a hug if they are sad.
Shyli: Give part of our love to them by giving them a great big hug.
Leah: Give them a nice big hug and say to them you’re my friend a lot and I love you.
Naveed: By saying something kind to them like “I like your shirt”.
Shabbat Shalom!
Morah Perline
This week the children wrote about the pet they wish they had and what they would do with their pet.
They also worked on word families.
Shabbat Shalom,
Morah Devora
